Question #1: What does a typical English lesson look like in your classroom?​
Ms. Morit's class usually teach about technique. Somethings are always mentioned, such as themes in stories and poems. And of course, stories, book, and poems take place in class as well. ​

Question #2: What novels do you recommend to students for your class?
For high schoolers, Ms. Morit recommends the classics. Some examples are Animal Farm and works from Shakespeare. If you want newer, more recent books, there are a lot of good dystopian and fantasy novels out there for you to explore.

Question #3: Which part of English Literary Studies is the most difficult?
The hardest thing about English Literary Studies is most likely going to be grammar. With it comes identifying your own mistakes and correcting them, which you will probably need a partner for. Other than those, writing essays are usually hard as well. ​

The easiest thing about English Literary Studies is that if you talk a lot and love to project your voice and your opinion, you will have an easier time during this block. ​

Question #5: Which part of English Literary Studies is the most fun?
​Students get to discuss among themselves and with different people a lot. They will also get a lot of opportunities to read books, watch movies, or just anything with a story, which they enjoy.

People do not realize they are reading the wrong books. That is why they think reading is boring. But in reality, you read every day. The key is to read what you are interested in. ​​

Question #7: Why is English Literary Studies such an important class?
It is important because you use it every day, especially in Canada. Even when you think you would not need to after you graduate and goes into working field, you still have to read and write different documents, use it to communicate with others, and simply just build healthy relationships and interactions. ​

Question #8: Why is English taught in so many foreign countries as their secondary language?
English was one of the most powerful countries way back when, and they were a huge fan of colonization. That is probably why so many countries, especially formerly-British colonies, still speak their language today. ​

Question #9: Compared to other languages, what do you benefit from learning English?
Like mentioned above, English is used almost universally by everyone around the globe. Often times, knowing English would serve as a foundation for foreign languages or people. ​

Question #10: Compared to other languages, are there any disadvantages in learning English? If yes, are there anything that make up for it?
English is often the most difficult to learn as a secondary or third language for students. It has a wide range of rules and contexts, but they almost always have an exception to them. That makes it hard for people to master the language quickly. Other than that, English probably has fewer difficulties than other languages like French or Spanish.
