Grade 12 math course curriculums at R.C. Palmer Secondary School

​In Grade 12, the selection of courses are as follows:

  • MA: Workplace Mathematics 12

  • MA: Mathematics 12 Pre-Calculus

Recommendation: Workplace Math 11

Core: hands-on, trades, work force

  • Measuring - using tools with graduated scales, converting using metric and imperial

  • Similar triangles (including right-angle trigonometry)

  • 2D & 3D shapes (including area, surface area, volume, and nets)

Prerequisite: Pre-Calc 11 or Math 11 Enriched

Recommendation: 80% or higher in the courses listed above AND Pre-Calc 12 pass or concurrently taken

Core: follows the College Board AP curriculum; equal to 1st year university calculus

  • AB or BC exams in May

    • A score of 4 or higher will result in AP-Calc 12 credit​
