Grade 10 is the last junior year of high school. Therefore, French 10 is considered a senior level (advanced) course. The most noticeable difference between this course and French 8 or 9 is that the tests are usually worth more now. In addition, quizzes are worth 45% and the final is worth 25%, unlike the 20% for the younger grades. Lastly, criteria in general grammar is increased, lengthened, and strengthened.

Grade 11 & 12
At Palmer, French 11 and French 12 are often taught as a joint class, due to its advanced level. If students reach this milestone, they are most likely going to be spending most of their time working independently to explore opportunities on their own. That being said, the teacher is always there when the students need them for questions, guidance, and suggestions.

In order to take this course, you have to pass French 10. However, a qualified French teacher could bump you up to be with seniors if you are capable and well aware of the fact that you want to be in French 11/12. An evaluation will take place to get the overall understanding of your abilities.
